A culture clash is when two or
more cultures disagree about their believe or way to life; this, normally
happened when one culture is misunderstood by the other one or when one doesn’t
want to learn about the rest, commonly this goes related to moral or static
aspects of the people involved.
Nowadays the culture clash is
not that common like it used to be in the past, because now, people tend to
accept other people and they, sometimes, don’t even care about people next to
them. In others countries, this happened a lot, but in ours, it still being
complicated in some aspects.
An example of culture clash can
be clearly exposed comparing United States and Chile, because in the first
country, is easier to see many types of people, meaning, of different
religions, sexual likes, music likes, politic likes, and they accept
themselves, but here in Chile, we are still having problems with people showing
their likes, we don’t accept new things easily, in fact, we tend to
discriminate people with different likes. I chose this example because is the
one I’m living, the one I see every day either on the street, or in the news,
and I think that it is important to mention the differences between some
developed countries and our country.
I never experienced a culture
clash, I’m very respectful with other people believes, I’m always trying to
learn a bit more about other cultures, I think that it’s important to have at
least an idea about different cultures.
I agree with you Ale, Chile might be "open minded" but we still (though not me) have got a religious mind and the concept of what is moral or not for us (as a country)is that everything must be correct and if something is not correct we are perverts.
